Bail Bondsman Breaks the Law

Breaking the Law
My husband and I left our hometown enroute to New Orleans in search of a wanted fugitive . It was a sudden last minute type trip as many are in the Bail Business . We had no new leads but knew the defendant visited the NOLA area frequently and if nothing else we would have ourselves a mini vacation .My husband was first to drive and stopped for gas at one of the Florida Turnpike Plazas in Osceola County . Afterwards he asked me to drive and so I took over the wheel. Being unfamiliar with his new vehicle I fumbled a bit trying to set the cruise control. I hadn't traveled 5 miles when out of nowhere I see lights flashing behind me. I immediately pulled over to the right shoulder on the Turnpike when out of my rearview mirror I saw the most massive godly looking FHP officer exit his patrol car . This man was over over 6 ft , muscular , wearing aviator sunglasses and a neatly pressed khaki uniform . My mind automatically went into a fog. I have to tell you I've been married for 25 years and never have I ever not been in control of myself or my mind .
This FHP officer walks over to the passenger side and I can see his lips moving but I can't hear a word. I'm gawking with a capital "G" . I am somewhere else totally unaware of my surroundings except for this hunk of a man standing before me. I am in the moment nothing else matters. I keep hearing this little annoying voice interrupting my thoughts when I realized it was my husband repeating what the officer wanted "license and registration, please " and so I went through the motions on autopilot retrieving them from by handbag and handed them to him . I followed the officer with my eyes via rearview mirror to his patrol car in this fog like dream and after a little while saw him walk back in slow motion to the drivers side window. Even to this day its hard to explain , it was like a western scene , him walking slowly with the sun reflecting off his sunglasses, gun slinging on his hip and I could see the dirt kick up from under his boots as he approached. While I'm still in a daze , he hands me something I later realized was a speeding ticket but right then for the first time I heard his voice . " Ma'am , have a good day , and Be Veerryy Caareefull When You Pull Out. " WHAT ? I almost fainted.
This experience cost me $320 . Very well worth it when you consider its been a year and half since this incident and occassionally I still relive it. I can totally understand now as a bail agent how some people choose to continue to break the law. Some things are just worth it... Happy Travels !
